Chhetri, vice president of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ),
Dhanusha Chapter was attacked by person named Lokesh Jha at 11:15am
today (10 Feb) at Bhanu Chowk of Janakpur, Dhanusa
district of central region.

Chhimeki, central committee member of FNJ said that Jha attacked
Chhetri with Khukuri, a traditional sharp weapon like sword, on
his head and is seriously injured. Chhetri is undergoing treatment at Janakpur District
Hospital and reason behind the attack is not known yet.
FNJ
has condemned the attack on journalist and strongly urge government,
security officials and local authorities to take an immediate action to
investigate and punish the culprit.
